The Overlook

Painting by Jan Šerých

The Overlook Hotel is a beautifully designed site that explores all aspects of Kubrick's The Shining, through continuity and behind-the-scenes photographs, conceptual artwork, promotional materials, interviews with crew members, and ephemera from The Stanley Kubrick Archive. Also shown is a great deal of recent artwork and poster design influenced by the film; common themes are the caretaker's twins and the iconic, geometric carpet shown near Room 237. Although the site is only three months old, there is an amazing amount of material here to enjoy.
